Absolutely! We specialise in bringing your unique plush toy designs to life. Whether you have a specific drawing, illustration, or photo, we can work with you to create a custom plush toy that matches your vision.

We always strive to create something as close to your design as possible, but the plushie is an artistic interpretation, not an exact replica. Because plush toys are made from fabric, thread, and stuffing, it is impossible to replicate every fine detail, shading, or colour.

As standard, we do not provide mockups before production begins. However, if you'd like an AI-generated mockup, you may request one and we're happy to provide it.

Once production commences, changes cannot be made and the order is non-refundable except in the case of a manufacturing defect.

Current lead times are 6–12+ weeks. We offer a Rush Service for an additional fee — just get in touch before ordering at maua@mauagang.com.

Prices range from £40 to £220+ depending on size and complexity. Fill out the quote form first and we'll provide a tailored price for your project.

We're unable to create plushies based on licensed characters protected by copyright or trademark. However, we'd love to create an original one-of-a-kind plushie inspired by a theme or concept you love!

Please email us at maua@mauagang.com with your order number as soon as possible. Once production has commenced on a custom plush toy, changes cannot be made and the order is non-refundable.

Our bulk service starts at 50 pieces, far below the 500 to 1,000 unit minimums most factories require. That makes it ideal for brands, charities, authors, and creators who want to test the market with a smaller, fully certified first run before scaling up.

Bulk orders are produced by our vetted partner factories in China, where the world's specialist plush manufacturing is based, and managed end to end from the UK. You get a UK point of contact, quality oversight, and full compliance handling, with China manufacturing pricing.

Our individual custom plushies (single toys from your drawing) are a separate service and are handmade in our UK studio.

A first project has one-time setup costs plus per-unit production:

• Sample: £180–£300 including shipping to your country
• Safety testing: £180–£250 per design (one-time, not repeated on re-orders)
• Care label design: £50 (free on larger orders)
• Physical labels: £0.25–£1.00 per label
• Per-unit production: depends on size, complexity, fabric, and quantity

Realistic lead times for a first project:

• Sample: 3–5 weeks (Rush Service: 2–3 weeks)
• Bulk production: 4–6 weeks depending on quantity (Rush: 3–4 weeks)
• Shipping: sea 60–70 days, rail to Europe 40–50 days, air 7–14 days, express 3–4 days

Yes. We arrange third-party lab testing and certification for your target markets: UKCA (UK), CE (EU), ASTM (USA), CCPSA (Canada), and others as needed. It is a one-time cost per design, so re-orders of the same design skip testing entirely.

Bulk orders are shipped DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to most countries. Import duties and taxes are already included and handled by us, so the price you agree is the price you pay, with no surprise customs bills on arrival.

Yes. Re-orders of the same design skip the sample, safety testing, and label design entirely, and are usually offered at a discounted unit price. Your re-order is mostly just production, labels, and shipping. This is exactly why starting with a smaller first run is a smart way to test the market before scaling.

Yes! We ship worldwide from our studio in the UK. All orders are carefully packaged to arrive safely.

Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive a tracking number by email. All international orders include tracking.

For standard shop orders and individual custom plushies (handmade and shipped from the UK), we prepay all import VAT and customs charges at checkout for the countries listed below. This uses a postal service called PDDP (Postal Delivered Duties Paid), so the price you pay is final, with no surprise customs bills or handling fees on delivery.

Taxes included at checkout (nothing to pay on delivery): Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, plus Norway, Switzerland, and the USA.

Because our plushies are handmade in the UK, they enter the EU with zero customs duty under the UK to EU trade agreement, so you only ever pay your own country's VAT, never an added tariff.

Two limits are set by the postal service:

• Spain and Luxembourg: taxes are prepaid at checkout for orders up to €150 (about £130). For larger orders to these two countries, your local post office collects the import VAT on delivery, and we show a note at checkout when this applies.
• USA: covers orders up to $800, which includes all of our items.

For any other destination (including Canada, Australia, and countries not listed above), we are happy to ship to you, but your local carrier will collect any import VAT or duties when your parcel arrives. These charges are set by your country, and Maua Gang is not responsible for them.

Bulk orders (50+ pieces) are different: they ship DDP to most countries, with duties and taxes already included and handled by us.

For lost parcels, please allow the full estimated delivery window before contacting us. For damaged parcels, photograph both the packaging and contents and email us at maua@mauagang.com.

Standard items: Return within 30 days of receipt, unused and in original condition.

Custom plush toys: No returns except where there is a confirmed manufacturing defect or the item is significantly different from what was agreed in writing.

Custom-made plush toys are exempt from the standard right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Returns are only accepted if the item has a manufacturing defect or is significantly different from what was agreed.

Contact us within 14 days of receiving your order at maua@mauagang.com with your order number, description of the issue, and clear photographs. We'll assess and offer a repair, replacement, or refund where a defect is confirmed.

Yes! All our soft toys are made from safe, non-toxic materials and are UKCA & CE certified, suitable for all ages including children.

It depends on the service. Our individual custom plushies (single toys made from your drawing or photo) are designed and handmade in our UK studio, with details like eyes, noses, and tongues embroidered or sewn by hand.

Our bulk orders (50+ pieces) are produced by vetted partner factories in China and managed end to end from the UK, including quality oversight and full safety certification.

• 💨 Air dry only — no tumble dryer (keeps it fluffy!)
• 🚫 Do not machine wash, iron, or dry-clean

Every order is wrapped in tissue paper in a sturdy cardboard box. We also offer a personalised handwritten postcard message — just add it when placing your order.

Maua means "little" — it's the nickname of our founder. So Maua Gang means Little Gang. 🐾

No. All payments are processed securely via PayPal or Stripe. We never have access to your full card details.

When you place an order we collect your name, address, telephone number, and email to fulfil the order. We do not share your details with any third parties. See our Privacy & Safety Policy for full details.
